Quiet Beat - Single

by Strange Neighbors

Quiet Beat 03:32
It wouldn’t be the first night Spent trying to forget An awkward bit of honesty In something that I said Lost in that quiet beat My words just fall away Tomorrow night the story Will be all over town Mistakes, they’re just like memories They follow you around Lost in that quiet beat Your words just fall away And, walking slowly, This all reminds me So here’s to hoping The shadows through my window spoke of So much promise for the summer Drunk on dew and darkness Search out a place to fall The air’s so thick with memories I can’t see through it all Lost in that quiet beat Your words just all away And, walking slowly, This all reminds me So here’s to hoping Everyone’s in pairs and so Self-consciously in love

about

The estate of Doug Hopkins, guitarist, co-founder, and song writer for the Gin Blossoms, approached us to record this song to be featured in the biopic "Lost Horizons." The film is an adaptation of the 2007 article "Jesus of Suburbia" by Brian Jabbas Smith, long time friend of Doug's, and will feature some of Doug's unpublished and unreleased tracks including this one from his band Algebra Ranch.

This song is not only a beautiful b-side, it also has a unique connection to the band. Although they shared limited time before his passing, Dana and her uncle can continue to connect through his musical legacy.

We are honored and grateful to record "Quiet Beat" and are so excited to share it with you.
